It is very important to cast the right people. If you cast the wrong people your film may not work at all because they would stereo-typically be seen to be a different type of character and with horror this may make your horror film not as real like or scary as you would have hoped it to be. Also it will make the film look unprofessional.
There are 3 people casting in our opening title sequence. We used certain people for each role because we feel they suited it and played the part well. These are the 3 we used:
One of the two victim is a young girl. We used Ella Webb because she looks innocent and vulnerable which is how victims should look. She looks like the girl from the orphanage, because although in the orphanage she is possessed she may been seen as an innocent character as she is only young and doesn't have a lot of facial expressions which could make the audience wonder. We thought that Ella would be a great person to play one of our victims as she can come across vulnerable in scary situations and looks like she wouldn't be able to help her self much if she was in a bad situation.
Sally, she is the very first victim who will be killed when she leaves the room. Sally looks like as they both have very similar facial features and the same styled hair. We have chosen Sally because she would steryo-typically be killed first in a film because she is blonde. Also because sally is a teacher it makes her look more vulnerable because it shows that there is no way out of escaping out of a big building like this and teachers are just normal people who don't have any powers to to get away from the scene.
This is Joe, who played the killer in our opening title sequence. Joe looks like the killer out of The Expelled. The reason we have matched these two together is because both their faces aren't really shown in the clips and the play the same roles. This is good because their identity is hidden therefore makes it more scary as the victims do not know who they are being killed by.
